Assignan
To the west of Saint-Chinian, Assignan is an ancient fortified square of the Middle Ages of which it remains a crenellated gate tower. The architecture of the village is more recent. You can find a church and 17th-century houses. All around, marked trails allow you to traverse a landscape of scrubland and vineyards dotted with headstones, these small dry stone huts. One of them will take you to st. Peter's Chapel, which overlooks the hamlet of Tudéry. Further on, by taking the D178, you enter the causses of the Minervois with its impressive gorges, the famous city of Minerva and the Muscat of Saint John of Minervois.
