Saint-Chinian Virtuosos

Virtuoso Awards 2021

Orchestrated by the union of the AOP Saint-Chinian, the Virtuosos played brilliantly the partition of the two terroirs - shale and limestone - that make up this Languedoc appellation.

Every year since 2011, the Virtuosos mark the tempo of the Saint-Chinian AOP. All areas - among the hundred or so in the appellation - can participate in this unique competition. The vintages presented must meet a very strict specifications. Characteristics of each plot, farming methods, winemaking and breeding conditions...

Forty criteria have been combed through. Each wine is then tasted on three vintages: one for sale; two older ones. Knowing that if one of the samples tasted blind does not convince the jury, the cuvée is automatically eliminated!

The goal: to prove that the Saint-Chinian AOP produces great wines while pursuing a work of introspection at the vineyard.
